AN EVEN LONGER OVERDUE UPDATE

Well how about a two month hiatus? Dang, I suck. As you can guess, life has been fairly uneventful. The 16 week, 20 week and 24 week appointments went very well. We had our ultrasound at 19 weeks. It’s a girl! As of now her name is Ana. Middle name is still TBD. She is moving like crazy. What a weird feeling that is. Everyone always prepares you for kicks. She does kick me but I am pretty sure her favorite thing to do is somersaults. It feels like something is rolling around in there. The fun part is watching my stomach jump here and there. Fun!

I am officially showing but I still have the B belly that plagues most overweight girls. Granted, at the rate I am going I expect that to all fill out in the next few weeks.

Although I don’t have much news, I can share someone else’s news. Let me tell a story.

A few years ago (almost 5 actually) we were at a Reptile New Year’s party at the Witte’s. Friends of ours who had been trying to get pregnant for quite some time informed us that they were 8 weeks pregnant with twins. It was extremely exciting. At that moment, the female half of another couple we are friends with and I look at each other and decide that the next year we were doing the whole baby thing. That way we could be pregnant “together”. Well, as you can probably guess, I chickened out. However our friends decided it was definitely time for them to start a family. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had a different time frame for them. After almost 5 years of dealing with infertility they are over 4 months pregnant with their first!!!!! Although, I wish they didn’t have to go through hell to get there, I do have to appreciate the irony that in the end we are doing this at the same time just as we initially said we would. So big hugs and kisses to the M’s. They are going to have beautiful little baby to love and spoil come next April.

I started writing this yesterday. In the mean time I learned two new pieces of information that are definitely blog worthy.
Our friends Kim and Martin welcomed their little boy, Aidan Patrick, yesterday.
We have learned that another couple we are friends with is expecting their 3rd. I am not sure how wide spread that knowledge is so I will refrain on using their names for now.

Well tomorrow is the big shower. Boy does time go by fast. We are excited but at the same time it’s all a little overwhelming. Man I wish this kid came with a user’s manual.

No good dreams lately. But I do have new entry for……….

Things they don’t really prepare you for #2
They don’t tell you that the kid will kick you in the colon or in the junk. You always hear about kicks to the stomach or the baby sitting on your bladder. But for some reason colon kicking isn’t mentioned in any of the books.
